4/15 MLB BREAKDOWN

MLB ARTICLE/CHEAT SHEET

NYM/PHI- Two of the top pitchers squaring off here with Syndergaard and Nola. Nola has struggled to start the season, but it seems more like a fluke after his masterful season last year. Both pitchers are in play, but I would rather pay a few hundred more for Trevor Bauer. No interest in any bats in this game.

CHC/MIA- I expect Yu Darvish to be pretty popular with the lack of sp2 options on this slate, but with the way that he has looked so far this year, I will not be on him. I think Richards on the other side is a much better sp2 option than Darvish because of very little ownership and Richards has a lot of talent. Marlins are very cheap and Darvish will be popular so I have problem levering with a Miami stack. Granderson, Anderson, Castro, and Alfaro are the 4 that peak my interest.

TOR/MIN- Toronto has been terrible offensively this season except for Galvis who is on a tear. I have interest in Perez who has flashed increased velocity this season and it has resulted in a lot of strikeouts. He is making his first start of the year and matchup is appealing against a poor offense who strikeout a lot. Twins are a very pesky offense so they would be on my short list of potential stacks against Shoemaker who will regress throughout the season. I like Kepler, Polanco, Cruz, Rosario, and Cron as a 5 man.

STL/MIL- Hudson has been terrible against LHH and great against RHH. Lefties are hitting .275 and righties are only hitting .140. This makes it very easy to navigate who to play on MIL. Yelich, Shaw, Moustakas, and Grandal stick out. Freddy Peralta has gotten destroyed in his three starts so far this season. I think he will figure it out eventually, but I still like Carpenter a lot at only 3.8k on DK.

LAA/TEX- Cahill has been really bad against LHH so far. Lefties have a .321 BA and .571 SLG against him so far this season. I don’t normally like to stack against Cahill since he is more of a groundball guy, but Choo, Mazarza, Gallo, and Cabrera could make a nice 4 man stack. Whether or not I stack the Angels will depend on if Mike Trout is in the lineup. The Angels stack will be pretty popular today, but if Trout is not in the lineup I would have no problem fading them and stacking KC and CWS.

KCR/CWS- This is my top game stack of the night. Both pitchers are terrible and we all know the KC bullpen is trash. No interest in pitching, just the bats. I like everyone in the top 6 of the batting orders for both teams. Favorite individual plays are Whit Merrifield and Alex Gordon and Jose Abreu and Yoan Moncada.

COL/SD- This COL has been struggling mightily so far this season but I always have interest in a few pieces whenever they face a lefty. Arenado is one of the best hitters in the league against LHP. He hit .368 with a .747 SLG and .379 ISO against southpaws last season and Story is the other guy who crushes lefties. A two man stack of Story and Arenado is appealing since no one will play them with a 3.1 implied total. Not much interest in Padres bats, they are all priced up on draftkings.

CIN/LAD- Kershaw makes his season debut tonight. I want to take a wait and see approach with him especially in his first start. His strikeouts and velocity were way down last season. I am not going to be stacking the Reds, but Kemp and Puig stick out as they are headed back to LA to face their former team. Luis Castillo is on my list of pitching targets. He has been lights out this season and if he is on his game, he will be able to rack up plenty of strikeouts against the Dodgers team.

CLE/SEA- This game only has a 7 run total. I do not have any interest in any bats in this game from either team. I only like Bauer from this game. Bauer is one of the best pitchers in the league and he routinely throws 110 to 120 pitches.
