4/8/19 MLB Breakdown

OAK/BAL- We have two homerun prone pitchers pitching in one of the most homerun friendly ballparks in the league. Both pitchers struggle against right handed power. OAK is one of the top stacks of the night, I would go with Chapman, Piscotty, Davis, and Grossman leading off. BAL is not going to be an offense that I stack very often this season. However, Mancini and Villar could be used as one offs with Mancini being my favorite.

WAS/PHI- I like Velasquez today. Last season he held righties to just a .211 BA and .308 SLG compared to a .288 BA and .529 SLG against lefties. The Nats are very righty heavy with 6 of the 9 hitters in the projected lineup expected to be righties. Phillies stack will be in play almost every game this season. The top 5 guys is where my interest lies.

NYY/HOU- Verlander is the best pitcher on the slate by far. Yanks strikeout a bunch and Verlander has elite strikout stuff. Absolutely no interest in Yanks bats and I also do not have much interest in the HOU bats against Tanaka. Overall, this seems like a good place to target the pitchers and look elsewhere with the bats.

LAD/STL- This is another spot where we have two solid pitchers facing off. With the Mariners, Athletics and a few other teams in great spots, it is difficult to prioritize bats in this game if you only play 1 lineup like me. However, Goldschmidt has dominated lefties in his career so he is my favorite play on the Cardinals by far and on LAD, it does not seem like Cody Bellinger will be slowing down any time soon. Bellinger, Pederson, and Muncy are my favorite 3 Dodgers.

SEA/KCR- This is a perfect game stack environment. I’ve stacked up the Mariners a few times already this season and they have yet to let me down. They are leading the league in runs per game and they get the best matchup they have had so far this year. Also, the KC bullpen is probably the worst pen in the entire league. Load up on SEA. On KC, I think a stack is in play against King Felix who has regressed massively over the past 2 seasons. Merrifield, Mondesi, Gordon, and O’Hearn are my top 4 on KC and Haniger, Santana, Bruce, Encarnacion are my top 4 on SEA. ATL/COL- Even though this game is in Coors, I have a hard time getting to these high priced bats when the Sea bats are much cheaper. Kyle Freeland is actually my favorite sp2 on draftkings just because he was excellent at home last season and is way too cheap. Freeland only had a 2.40 era at home last season and was way better at home than on the road. I am waiting for the Rockies to face a lefty in Coors before I full stack them. Their offense is not the same as it was last season.

SDP/SFG- We have two lefties facing off in the lowest total game of the slate. No one will look at the bats here and I cannot really blame them. If you are making a bunch of lineups I think a Myers, Machado, Reyes, Renfore make for a nice sneaky gpp stack since they all crush lefties. I do not have any interest in the Giants bats. The only real interest I have are the pitchers in this game.

MIL/LAA- The Brewers get a ballpark downgrade and are facing a pitcher who has done a great job of limiting homeruns. I do not have any interest in a MIL stack today and the same can be said for the Angels except for Trout, who is on a long homerun streak.
