4/9/18 Slate Breakdown

PHI/WAS- First game of the night should be a pitchers duel. My preferred pitcher from this game is Aaron Nola who is one of the top pitchers in the league. Nats have a low implied total and I expect Nola to have a monster bounce back game after he got rocked in his last start. Give me Nola in this game and nothing else.

OAK/BAL- The As have one of the top implied totals on the board. I usually prefer to stack the As when they are facing a righty, but I can make an exception here since I do not expect Means to go long since he’s only pitched in relief this season. Favorite As are Semien, Pinder, and Davis. On Baltimore, I like Villar and Mancini who both have great numbers vs lefties.

MIN/NYM- Citi field is a very pitcher friendly park and it’s only supposed to be 50 degrees at game time. DeGrom is probably the top pitcher on the slate. Only issue is he’s pretty expensive so I prefer to look at guys like Nola and Marquez who are $2000 cheaper and have similar upside. Kyle Gibson is also very appealing. He’s very cheap and the pitching conditions in this game are favorable. Gibson is definitely on my short list of pitchers.

LAD/STL-Dodgers have been smashing home runs left and right. They have a favorable matchup against a righty in Dakota Hudson. Pederson and Bellinger both crush right handed pitching and I would throw Muncy in there as a 3 man stack. With the amount of good options for bats, I do not have any interest in Cardinals bats against Stripling.

NYY/HOU- The Yanks get another tough matchup tonight against Cole. No interest in Yanks bats and little interest in Cole since I like guys below him a little more. HOU bats have a decent spot against Losiagia. They probably are my 4th favorite team to stack tonight and I would do it with the top 4 in the batting order.

SEA/KCR- Sea has been the team that I’ve stacked the most so far this season and I will continue to do that tonight. As evident by last night, the Royals bullpen is complete trash so I would go right back to a full SEA stack. Junis is a decent pitcher, but he give ups a lot of homeruns and facing the top scoring team in the league doesn’t seem like a spot to target him. On the Royals, I have a little interest in the bats since I like Marco a little as an sp2. Only Royals that stick out are Merrifield who crushes lefties, Mondesi, and Soler.

ATL/COL- Braves have an implied total of over 5, but I have a tough time recommending any of them against Marquez who I have a ton of interest in. Marquez is too cheap and has been pitching lights out in his past 20-25 starts. COL finally faces a lefty so you know what that means. Fire up Arenado who has been one of the best hitters in the league against southpaws and Story who smashed lefties last year. I would round out the stack with Desmond.

TEX/ARI- The diamondbacks are one of the top stacks of the night for me behind Sea. I love Marte, Ahmed, Jones, Escobar, and Flores as a 5 man stack. All 5 have solid numbers against lefties. I don’t have much interest in Texas bats against Grenkie who is still a solid pitcher. Tex does strike out a bunch so Grenkie would make my short list of pitching options.

SFG/SDP- This is almost identical to the game yesterday with 2 lefties squaring off with both totals under 4. I have interest in Lucchessi going up aganist a putrid Giants offense. Just like yesterday, I think the Padres righties of Myers, Reyes, Machado, and Renfroe make for a low owned gpp stack if you make a bunch of lineups.

MIL/LAA- Matt Harvey has struggled aganist lefty power and this Brewers team has a bunch of lefties. I like Yelich, Moustakas, Shaw, and Thames from MIL. I have no interest in the Angels since Peralta was dominant against righties last season and this Angels team is littered with RHH.
